Mystery fireworks downtown, mystery solved


(KMOV) — A beautiful, but unpublicized, fireworks show went off downtown Friday night.

After airing a story about the mystery event, News 4 got word that they were set off to mark the 100 year anniversary of the St. Louis Rotary Club. That celebration was held Friday night at the Millenium Hotel in downtown St. Louis. The display was put on by Gateway Fireworks.

Report: St. Louis has one of the best fireworks displays

Reprinted from KSDK — Fair St. Louis has some of the best fireworks in the nation.

AOL’s Digital City has ranked Missouri’s Fair St. Louis and Live on the Levee as 5th in the nation for the best fireworks display, beating Chicago and New York City.

The fireworks will be shot off Friday and Saturday at 9:15 p.m. The Counting Crows will perform Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Train will perform at 8:00 p.m. Saturday before the displays begin.
